Toteup is a small beta run by one person. This is what happens to your information.
What we keep
- Your email, to sign you in with a link. No passwords.
- The people you split with: the names you type, and an email or phone number only if you add one.
- Your bills and receipts: what was read from each one (line items, amounts, the billing month), so your history adds up. The file itself is stored privately only while Claude reads it, then deleted (anything left from a failed read is deleted within two days).
- Who paid: whether each share is unpaid, said paid or confirmed, and when.
- How to pay you: the Zelle, Venmo or Cash App handle you enter. Only people in that group see it.
- The waitlist: if you try to sign in before you're invited, your email, so we can let you know when there's room. Nothing is sent to it until then.
- Feedback you send with the Feedback button, with the page you sent it from.
- Usage counts to run the beta: how many bills were read and what reading them cost.
Who else sees it
- The people in your group or split see the bill, who is on it and whether they paid. Anyone you send a link to can open what that link shows, so share links only with the people involved.
- Claude (Anthropic) reads the bills you upload to find the amounts. Anthropic processes the file to answer and, under its commercial terms, doesn't use it to train its models.
- The services Toteup runs on: Supabase (database and file storage), Vercel (hosting) and Resend (reminder and sign-in emails). They store or carry the data for us and nothing else.
- Nobody else. No ads, no selling or sharing data, no tracking or analytics cookies.
Cookies
- One to keep you signed in, and one per group link so the group opens again without the link. That's all.
Your choices
- Organizers can remove a bill or split at any time; it disappears for everyone (and can be put back for 30 days).
- Reminder emails have an unsubscribe link in every email.
- To see or delete everything about you, email hello@toteup.app. We'll do it within 30 days.
